We’re often critical of others in the things that we are critical of ourselves. The people we spend time with are perceived extensions of our current or aspirational selves. But people are their own people—they aren’t mirrors or looking glasses into our future. Once we accept those around us for who they are, the relationship can truly begin. That’s why we have many relationships in our lives. Someone can’t be everything for you. And that’s okay.

The cool Fall air fills my lungs and permeates my being.

El frío se viene. Los vientos del cambio llegaron.

You can feel something changing, aside from the temperature. People are slowing down.

We need the seasons more than we realize. They show us something about ourselves. Like a snake shedding its skin. A new season brings welcome change.

But I’m living in an endless summer. Maybe I don’t need to shed my skin.

I love the shoulder seasons. It’s where I find the space to be myself. The shoulder seasons have some personality. They had to develop personality to be interesting.
